Unemployment rate in U.S. publishing industries 2001-2019

In 2019, an average of 5.3 percent of all workers in the U.S. publishing industry were unemployed. Whilst the industry is in a slightly better position in this regard than motion picture and sound recording, which had an unemployment rate of 6.5 percent, the U.S. broadcasting industry's figure far outperformed other media sectors with just 2.5 percent of workers unemployed in 2019.
