The share of women in behind-the-scenes roles (directors, writers, executive producers, producers, editors, and cinematographers) in Hollywood in 2019 was higher in almost every category that in the previous year, the percentage of women employed as executive producers remained the same at 21 percent. In 2019, 13 percent of Hollywood directors were female, an increase from the eight percent recorded in 2018.
