The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen and has been within the family until this day. Over the past 80 years, the company has evolved significantly. The company first started out as a small carpenter's workshop and is now one of the world's largest toy manufacturers.

In 2015, the LEGO Group generated a global revenue of approximately 4.8 billion euros and employed about 14,000 people worldwide.
The LEGO brick is the most important and recognized product of the company and has been named "Toy of the Century" on two separate occasions. The LEGO brand's primary focus is children, between the ages of 2 and 11 years, who appreciate hands-on and imaginative activities like creative building and role-playing.
