Italy: manufacture of footwear industry enterprises 2019

The number of enterprises in the footwear manufacturing industry in Italy decreased by 421 enterprises since the previous year. Therefore, 2019 marks the lowest number of enterprises in this industry during the observed period. The recent development could be explained by the fact that Eurostat reports a break in time series for 2017. Notably, the number of enterprises in this industry has been, with the exception of 2011, continuously decreasing over the last years.

According to Eurostat, this includes all companies that were active during at least a part of the reference period.
