In 2019, the total number of on-demand audio and video music streams in the United States hit an astronomical 1.15 trillion, satisfying the predictions of many sources which suggested that the figure could reach one trillion by the end of year after 500 billion streams were recorded in the first half of 2019 alone. Video streams accounted for just over 400 billion on-demand song streams, and audio streams were responsible for 745.7 billion of the total, marking an increase of 23.8 percent on the previous year.
