German sales of Smart cars declined to around 12,200 units following a decrease of roughly 49.25 percent relative to the previous year. German Smart sales had peaked in 2019, at over 49,100 units sold, but the COVID-19 pandemic and semiconductor shortage were among the factors impacting the company's performance.
