Sales volume of fair trade products in Germany 2012-2017, by product group This statistic shows the sales volume for fair trade products in Germany from 2012 to 2016, broken down by product group. The tropical fruits segment (mostly bananas) was the most important segment in the fair trade sector based on sales volume. In 2016, roughly 74.1 thousand tons of fair trade tropical fruits were sold in Germany. By comparison, the sales volume of fair trade coffee amounted to roughly 17 thousand tons.
