UK: Next group revenue 2012-2018 The British fashion retailer Next’s revenue is in a slow decline. While Next had a golden period of annual profits between 2012 and 2016, since then progress came to a halt and started a backwards slide. In 2018, Next generated a revenue of approximately 4.1 billion British pounds, which was slightly less than the 2017 figures.
Store sales suppressed by online

As a multichannel retailer, Next sells its fashion lines in store locations and online. In fact, by 2018/19 the retailer’s online and store sales have almost evened out. Parallel to the notable drop in the retail sales of Next, online sales have surged ahead for the brand since 2010.

Market share drops

Next plc is a high street staple brand for fashion and clearly favoured by British women. Yet the falling revenue and profits inevitably led to a dive in the retailer’s share in UK apparel market. In 2018, the estimated market share was significantly lower than what the retailer enjoyed as recent as 2015.
