Scope 3 emissions released by Next plc 2022, by activity type
The distribution of Scope 3 emissions provides a clear picture of the environmental impact of retailers' activities. In the case of fashion retailer Next - operating primarily in the United Kingdom (UK) - the supply of products generated almost two million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in 2021. Meanwhile, the transportation and distribution of products from suppliers to retailers did not exceed 120,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions that year. In turn, delivery to private consumers produced almost 72,000 metric tons of CO2e.
