This statistic shows the share of individuals using internet banking in the Netherlands from 2012 to 2019, by age group. In 2019, 98 per cent of Dutch individuals between 18 and 25 years used internet banking for private use. In comparison, roughly 47 percent of people with an age of 75 years or older used internet banking in 2019.

The share of people who use mobile banking in the Netherlands reached a percentage of 65 percent in 2016, compared to 53 percent in Luxembourg and 51 percent in Belgium. In the same year, approximately 92 percent of the teenagers aged 15 to 16 years old used online banking to check their balance, whilst 50 percent used it to pay bills.

Between 2015 and 2016, Dutch respondents indicated they use mobile payment apps more than respondents from other Benelux countries. In 2016, the share of respondents who have used a mobile payment app in the Netherlands reached a value of approximately 30 percent.
