Weekly audience market share of TV channels in Norway December 2017 This statistic displays the audience market share of TV channels in Norway from December 25 to December 31, 2017. The audience share is a measurement in order to evaluate television (or radio) stations' or programs' popularity. The term is defined as the percentage of individuals watching a TV channel or listening to a radio station out of all individuals watching television or listening to the radio during a specific survey period. In week 52 of 2017, the TV channel NRK1 was ranked highest with an audience share of 26.2 percent, followed by the channels TV2 (15.1 percent) and TVNORGE (8.4 percent). In general, the TV stations of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (abbreviated as NRK) were watched the most - the audience share of this channel family amounted to 39 percent in 2016. But nevertheless, watching public service television decreased slightly. As of 2006, the audience share of Norwegian public television was still 44 percent.
