Pepsi's market share of the juice beverages industry in India 2011-2016 Pepsi’s market share of the juice beverage industry in India was around 26.7 percent in 2016. The country has overcome its past when tea was the ‘holy’ beverage of the common folk and coffee was the choice of people with a ‘sophisticated’ lifestyle. There is a plethora of options in the market now with health drinks and juices catching up fast and dethroning the popular choices. The market value of the juice beverages industry in India was estimated to be more than 450 billion Indian rupees in 2021.
The Pepsi empire

With more than 80 products and variants under its name with the likes of Lays, Kurkure and Doritos, the company also encompasses a wide range of carbonated drinks. Pepsi India was the most popular soft drink brand on YouTube in 2019, with more than 130 million uploaded video views. Additionally, Pepsi held a share of more than 30 percent of the carbonated beverages industry in the country.

Rise of the Juice

With fitness catching the eye of teens in the country, supported by the recent liquor ban, the market for the non-alcoholic beverages looks promising. The production volume of pulp and fruit juices across the nation stood close to 160 thousand metric tons in fiscal year 2018. The gulp factor has been influenced by western lifestyle and the motivation to look and feel healthy has begun to impact the fruit and juice market and is presumably on its way to bring about a major change in people’s lives and in the industry.
