Leading banks in Spain 2022, by market capitalization
The coronavirus pandemic has taken its toll in the financial market, leading the six Spanish credit institutions listed in Ibex 35 to lose half their stock value during the first half of 2020. Nevertheless, as of December 2022, Banco Santander's market capitalization remained over 47 billion euros. BBVA and CaixaBank followed, with roughly 34 and 29.6 billion euros, respectively.
