Solar photovoltaics capacity per inhabitant in Germany 2013-2019

Germany had a solar photovoltaic capacity of 590 watts per inhabitant in 2019. In the period of consideration, figures increased by almost 150 watts per inhabitant. The country added 3.9 gigawatts of photovoltaic capacity in the same year.

Germany is the dominant European Union member in the solar photovoltaic market, and had a cumulative capacity of 49 TWh in 2019, far higher than any other nation in the EU. It also had the highest electricity production volume.
