Germany is home to nearly 1,500 offshore wind power plants. As of 2019, the number of offshore sites connected to the power grid amounted to 1,469. This was the largest figure in the period of consideration. Additionally, there are currently 16 off-grid sites. These figures are still notably smaller compared to the number of wind power plants on land.
