Mexico: gender gap index 2015-2022

For the second consecutive year, Mexico scored 0.764 in the gender gap index in 2022. This shows a gender gap of approximately 24 percent (women are 24 percent less likely to have equal opportunities than men). Since 2017, Mexico's score has been overall continuously increasing, which shows an improvement towards gender equality. That same year, the gender gap in the area of political empowerment in Mexico amounted to 51 percent.
