Cryptocurrency ownership in Luxembourg in 2018, by type

Do you have cryptocurrencies? If so, which ones?*

Cryptocurrency ownership in Luxembourg in 2018, by type This statistic shows the answers to a survey question about the ownership of cryptocurrencies in Luxembourg as of February 2018. Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and initial coin offerings (ICOs) reached the news quite often in 2017. In early 2018, six percent of the respondents indicated they owned Bitcoin. Ethereum, another well-known cryptocurrency, was owned by approximately two percent of the respondents. Bitcoin is a digital currency that uses blockchain technology as a means of security. Because of its design, however, it is difficult to get an insight in the full size of the Bitcoin market in individual countries. In the first three quarters of 2017, there were approximately 44,000 trading transactions in Bitcoin in the Netherlands.
