According to a 2021 survey, 78 of Italian female shoppers purchased via smartphone, outdoing male online shoppers by ten percentage points. In turn, male shoppers orderd through laptop much more than women did (40 percent against 21 percent)

The survey involved 23,394 participants across the following European countries: Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
* Between 800 and 1,556 participants were interviewed per country. All respondents had purchased physical products from online since January 2021, and received at least one package.
