Fossil fuel sector's job losses in the U.S. March-July 2020, by state
Nearly 120,000 employees within the U.S. fossil fuel industry were made redundant between March and July 2020. This is a result of declining energy and especially crude oil demand following the coronavirus pandemic.
Texas, the leading oil producing state, was the most affected, with some 40,000 workers laid off in the five-month period.
