Argentina: soybean meal consumption volume 2010-2020

Consumption of soybean meal in Argentina has soared in the last decade. This by-product of soybean oil extraction is used mainly for food and animal feeds, as a protein supplement. In the South American country, consumption of soybean meal reached 3.28 million metric tons in 2019, more than triple the amount reported in 2010. In 2020, the figure is forecast to increase by another 3.7 percent, to reach 3.4 million tons.
