U.S. Politics
According to a Fox News poll released on Wednesday, Donald Trump saw his approval rating fall even further to a new low of 38 percent. Even though the president has been struggling with low public approval ratings, he has a better image among military personnel. Polling carried out by the Military Times has found that 44 percent of all U.S. troops find the president favorable while 40 percent find him unfavorable. It is important to note that the research was carried out before the controversy regarding Trump's phonecall with the widow of a fallen Green Beret.
There is a significant officer-enlisted divide when it comes to views of the White House. The polling found that a majority 53.4 percent of officers have an unfavorable view of Trump while 30.6 percent support him. Different branches of the military also have varying levels of support for the president. The Marine Corps has the highest favorability levels at 58.9 percent, followed by the Army which has 46.3 percent. More Navy and the Air Force personnel tend to have an unfavorable view of Trump.
