Digitalization is connecting the world. As of 2018, two thirds of the world's 7.6 billion people have mobile phones, of which roughly half are also smart. This compares to more than half of the world having access to the internet overall, according to data presented by Hootsuite and We Are Social. When it comes to social media, almost 3 billion users use it on mobile devices.
