is set to unveil new iPhone models
at an event later today. Although rumours have been rife for weeks, the company isn't expected to showcase any wild departures from its current lineup such as a foldable iPhone or one that's 5G capable. Most analysts are expecting the first 5G iPhone to land in 2020. Network speed is certainly one area Apple needs to work on, according to a recent analysis conducted by mobile network mapping company OpenSignal
It found that users of the OnePlus 7 Pro experienced the fastest 4G download speeds in the United States at 39.4 Mbps, followed by the LG V35 ThinQ and G8 ThinQ. The first iPhone only comes a dismal 43rd on the list of the 50 smartphones with the fastest 4G download speeds. That device is the iPhone XS Max and it had a download speed of 25.6 Mbps. This infographic shows how all iPhone models compare in terms of U.S. 4G dowload speeds. While the XS came second with 25.0 Mbps, it comes as little surprise that the 2013 vintage 5S came last on the list with just 9.7 Mbps.
