The Trillion-Dollar Tech Summit
President-elect meets with tech leader in New York
On Wednesday, some of the most influential leaders from the tech industry followed Donald Trump's invitation to join a meeting in Trump Tower. Executives from Apple, Google, Microsoft and other high-cap technology companies joined this first summit between the president-elect and key figures from Silicon Valley since Trump's election in November.
During his campaign, Trump repeatedly called out tech companies such as Apple and Amazon for their tax and employment practices, while Silicon Valley's stood firmly behind Trump's Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.
The total market capitalization of the companies represented at the meeting amounted to $3.1 trillion, illustrating just how illustrious the guest list at yesterday's event really was.
