With low barriers of entry that the internet provides to create content, India has seen a steady rise in partisan and alternative news websites. These websites tend to report news in a way that leans towards certain political ideologies and hence end up having increased visibility. When survey respondents were asked whether they used any of these partisan and alternative news websites, The Logical Indian, Oneindia.com and IndiaFacts.org were the three most used websites. However, 56 percent of the respondents did not use any of the given websites, an indication that these websites might be known but not many use them for regular news access.
