The number of cases of rabies in the U.S. in 2017 varied greatly among different species. According to a recent report, cats had the most cases of rabies among the domestic animal species with 276 cases during that year. At that time, horses and donkeys had the fewest cases of rabies with just 13 cases reported during 2017.
