Household gross savings as a share of disposable income in Portugal 2007-2022
In Portugal, households saved approximately eight percent of their disposable income in the last quarter of 2022. That gross savings rate reached its highest value in the second quarter of 2020 at nearly 19 percent. The household savings rate in Spain, Portugal's neighbor country, also reached similar levels during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
