In 2018, China imported around 1.6 billion Canadian dollars worth of shellfish products, registering a compound annual growth rate of 16.2 percent between 2014 and 2018. China's shellfish imports from New Zealand reached approximately 90 million Canadian dollars, accounting for 5.5 percent of the total shellfish imports.
