U.S. political news sources more likely to be distrusted by Republicans 2019

As of November 2019, 58 percent of Republicans and Republican leaners were found to distrust CNN for political and election news. In comparison, only 23 percent of survey respondents trusted the source about political news. U.S. President Donald Trump has regularly voiced his displeasure regarding the news channel's reporting on the current political landscape and has frequently called CNN reporting fake news. Overall, it was found that Republicans were more likely to distrust than to trust a wide range of news sources.
