In the first five months of 2020, Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer spent 5.65 million U.S. dollars on Facebook ads related to the topic of climate. The second largest ad expense belonged to Michael Bloomberg, at 4.78 million dollars spent between January and May 2020.
