Twitter has become an increasingly relevant medium for politicians and public figures to post about issues and the 2020 U.S. presidential elections are no exception with candidates utilizing the medium for their election campaigns. The most followed Democratic candidate on Twitter was Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) with over 11.57 million followers on his personal account @BernieSanders as of March 2020. Second-ranked hopeful Joe Biden (former VP) had 4.61 million followers on his Twitter account @JoeBiden, followed by Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) with 4.01 million followers.
