In December 2020, a survey carried out in the United Kingdom (UK) found that 37 percent of respondents were very dissatisfied with the government's test and trace system during the COVID-19 pandemic, while almost 30 percent were also very displeased with the clarity of the government's communication during the crisis. The highest overall satisfaction, at 58 percent of respondents, came for the government's approach to developing vaccines after the UK became the first country in the world to clinically approve the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for use. While there was also a high approval among respondents in Scotland of the Scottish government's decision making during the pandemic.
