The travel and tourism industry in Norway has been heavily affected by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. In April 2020, roughly 330 thousand overnight stays were registered in Norway, while there were over two million overnight stays in April 2019. As many countries gradually reopening, more overnight stays were registered in the following months. In June 2020, the figures for domestic overnight stays nearly matched those of the previous year. Considering foreign tourists, however, the numbers were still strikingly low, reaching nearly 128 thousand overnight stays the same month.
