Global household electricity prices in select countries 2019, by component
In 2019, Belgium was one of the countries worldwide with the highest ex-tax household electricity price, reaching more than 262 U.S. dollars per megawatt-hour. In contrast, Mexico had the lowest price among the listed countries, at 54.7 U.S. dollars per megawatt-hour. Meanwhile, Germany and Denmark had some of the highest taxes over household electricity, both above 170 dollars per megawatt-hour.
