U.S. power producer CO2 emission rate

FirstEnergy had a carbon dioxide (CO₂) emission rate of 2,163 pounds per megawatt hour of electricity generated (lb/MWh) in 2021. This was the highest CO₂ emission rate among the top privately/investor-owned power producers in the United States that year. Vistra Energy, which is the biggest CO₂ emitting power producer in the U.S., had a CO₂ emission rate of 1,276 lb/MWh.
