In a survey conducted across India in April and May 2020, approximately 85 percent of rural households claimed to have received ration during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In contrast, approximately 65 percent of urban households claimed to have received ration during the same period. Although the share of households receiving ration was comparable, urban households reported significantly higher percentage of respondents unable to receive ration during the survey period.
