
Production of peaches and nectarines in South Africa 2000-2019
At the beginning of the 21st century, the production volume of peaches and nectarines in South Africa was 222.8 thousand metric tons. In 2019, the quantity amounted to 144.3 thousand metric tons, and this represented a reduction by 5.3 percent. During the time under review, drastic fluctuations were available mainly between 2000 to 2004 and from 2012 to 2019 The peak of production was registered in 2003 and a trough in 2019, both at roughly 224 and 144.3 thousand metric tons respectively. In 2001, there was a major drop in production within the time period under investigation, at 27.14 percent.
