Digital or mobile wallet payment was the most used point of sale payment method in 2022 globally, and is set to become even more popular by 2026. In 2022, 16 percent of POS payments were made using cash, but this is forecast to fall to 10 percent in four years time. Meanwhile, credit cards reigned supreme in the U.S.
