A study from 2020 on political advertising on social media platforms in the United States, found that 45 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 said that social media companies should not allow any political ads on their platform. In comparison, 64 percent of respondents aged 65 or older were of the same opinion. In total, 54 percent of U.S. adults believed that social media should not allow any political ads.
