Sales turnover of Amul FY 2011-2023

In financial year 2023, Amul reported a sales turnover of over 550 billion Indian rupees. Anand Milk Union Limited (Amul) is one of the largest dairy companies in the world with an increasing growth rate since 2011.

India: home to one of the largest dairy industries

India has a huge dairy industry, producing dairy products such as cow milk, butter, and cheese on a large scale. In 2023, India was the third largest producer of cow milk worldwide. Nearly 99 million metric tons of cow milk were produced across the nation. In the same year, the country saw the highest number of milk cows worldwide, valuing more than 60 million heads.

Domestic milk production and consumption

Amul, Mother Dairy, and Country Delight are some of the leading dairy brands in India. Since 2019, India saw at least a two percent increase every year in the domestic consumption volume of milk. Although milk was produced across all states in India, Uttar Pradesh, one of the largest states in northern India, held the highest share of milk production, amounting to almost 15 percent.
