A recent study looking into the cross-border e-commerce purchase behavior of consumers revealed that respondents from Spain were most likely to buy something online from a Chinese retailer in 2023. The survey asked consumers across Europe from which country they most recently purchased something online. Online shoppers from Ireland, Austria, and Luxembourg answered "China" significantly less, even though they were the most likely to buy products and services from a foreign e-commerce retailer. This probably indicates they prefer to buy from e-commerce stores in neighboring countries.
