Number of products with FOSHU label in Japan FY 2011-2020
In the fiscal year 2020,around 1,071 products in Japan received permission to be labeled as "foods for specified health uses" (FOSHU). Since 2012, the number of permitted FOSHU products remained steadily above one thousand.
The FOSHU label designates food products with scientifically recognized health-promoting effects. Products bearing the label received the government's approval to be promoted with such health claims.
