Reasons why French people read more books during the lockdowns in France 2020
More than 40 percent of French readers said they read more during the lockdowns put in place to fight the spread of the coronavirus in 2020. The first explanation given by respondents is that reading helped them pass the time and fight boredom. Many respondents also mentioned the need to disconnect from the news but also from social networks, which many claimed to be a source of stress and negative emotions.
