SARI deaths in Latin America & the Caribbean 2021, by country
In 2021, there were over 170 thousand deaths caused by severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) in Mexico, making it the most affected country in the region. Paraguay followed, with more than six thousand deaths due to severe acute respiratory infection. In 2020, Mexico reported nearly 4.8 thousand influenza cases of the type A and B.
