Globally, 29 percent of respondents from a survey in 2020 from tech vanguard organizations had a visionary role in developing their organization's business strategy. This means they acted as visionary guides to leveraging technologies. In baseline organizations, the majority of CIOs had the role of adviser, meaning they represented tech function and support the business strategy.
