French people supporting stronger legislation for discriminating employers 2015-2022
In 2021, there was a general increase in the approval of the French for the various measures to prevent discrimination in the working environment. Indeed, almost nine out of ten people stated that they were in favor of strengthening legal sanctions in Europe against employers who discriminate on the basis of origin, nationality, skin color or religion (88 percent, an increase of three points compared with 2019). By March 2022, this proportion had decreased to 84 percent.
