At the beginning of 2022, 28 percent of people in France reported having encountered difficulties in accessing a suitable housing in recent years. When asked a year earlier, this proportion amounted to more than half among people with disabilities. Similarly, only 23 percent of people with disabilities had encountered absolutely no difficulties, compared to 46 percent of the general population.
In 2019, there were nearly six million people with disabilities in France.
