Share of people who consider that secularism is in danger in France 2020
In 2020, most of French people considered secularism as an essential republican principle, constitutive of the national identity. Yet, for seven out of ten people, secularism was in danger in France. Only eight percent of the people interviewed absolutely disagreed with this statement. In fact, for nearly three out of five French people, the principle of secularism was not sufficiently taught in school.
