French students supporting religious symbols in public services 2021, by religion
By the beginning of 2021, the rate of support for students' religious expression in the school environment among high school students was relatively high. Indeed, according to the source, the wearing of visible religious symbols, such as the headscarf or kippah, by students in public high schools was supported by more than one in two high school students (52 percent), a proportion twice as high as in the adult population (25 percent). Looking at these numbers in detail, it appears that high school students of the Muslim faith were the most supportive of wearing religious symbols, regardless of the public service in question.
