Number of gas stations in Mexico 2020-2022, by type
As of May 2022, there were more than 12.9 thousand gas stations in Mexico, of which around six thousand had a commercial image different than Pemex. In comparison to a year earlier, the number of private gas stations in the country increased by roughly 14 percent. Meanwhile, the number of Pemex gas stations declined by eight percent in the same period.
